I've been dying to come here for years and when we finally got to go I didn't mind the 45 minute wait time. We had lunch on a Saturday. The food was pretty good. I do think it's expensive but I think you're paying for ambiance. I'm from Laredo so I understand that this is not authentic Mexican food. Unfortunately, our entire visit was ruined by our God awful waitress. She was rude and actually had the nerve to argue with my brother in law after she got his order wrong. I saw some other reviews which said something similar, that they noticed other wait staff being more attentive to their tables, so I think the problem was just our server. She completely ignored my sister who was paying. My husband had to get her attention numerous times. I guess she thought he was paying. I saw her do the same thing to the table beside us. I would definitely go back, the place is absolutely beautiful but I hope to get a better server next time. I'm sorry I didn't get her name but she didn't introduce herself so how could I.
I loved everything about this place. The service was excellent, from the hostess to the wait staff to bakery counter staff. The food was top notch and the margaritas were delicious. The food and drinks were served fast and hot and our waiter was very attentive. After dining we spent some time at the bakery counter and purchased empanadas, fudge and doughnuts. The atmosphere is electric! You can almost feel this place vibrating with the high energy. The decor was beautiful, with bright and colorful balloons, decorations and Christmas trees. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in town.
Very crowded, Definitely worth the wait. Excellent service ,fantastic food! There is a lot of seating behind the bar that only serves alcohol and appetizers. No wait at all there. Wandering mariachis make this a lot of fun! The bakery is fantastic! Excellent mojoitos!
Visited this place on Sept 9 2017 around 7pm and was sat down within less than 20 minutes. Which was good timing as we were told 45 minutes. The bar area was a nice place to sit and wait. They also have a panaderia that had a large selection of sweet breads. The restaurant was very large and clean. The restrooms were busy but very clean. Service was great and speedy. There was only one time I had to get up to get my own appetizer plates so we could share with our family. This place was very good and we will visit again.
Eating breakfast after strolling the Riverwalk at 4:30 in the morning! With Sarah! 11/25/2017 I’ve been coming here since the 70’s and the food has only gotten better over time. Mi Tierra is a “must eat here” in San Antonio! The meal was well prepared, well presented and tasted delicious! The staff was welcoming and the price was affordable. What more could anyone ask for! The River Walk had been lit the night before! Also a must see!
