Atmosphere very laid back not typical mexican resturant, almost looks like a diner. Had a bean and cheese with a potato, egg and cheese. Cook forgot to add cheese to the potato,egg and cheese no biggie. Tortillas are soft, tacos are big, but all in all not to bad. It wasn't THE BEST but it was better than standard. Service was pretty good too. No complaints, but I was the only customer here at 8:32 AM. Would I come back? Maybe for a breakfast date, but I know there are better tacos in SA. Edit: I had to use the men's restroom and it was the smallest restroom I've ever used. Couldn't even sit because the wall was so close to the toilet.
This place used to be on the top of my list for great food at extremely great prices. Of course, this was about 15 years ago. Little by little, this restaurant has been very disappointing. It has gotten worse since they were featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Service is horrible and food is bland. Last visit, I decided to give it another go just one last time. I regret even giving them one more chance. I was charged $2.00 for a tiny (extremely tiny) piece of avocado. I brought it up to the server and that didn't do any good. I paid my bill and left. This restaurant is not what it once was. Luckily, there are other options to choose from if I'm wanting to eat Mexican food in my neighborhood.
Visited this place Sat after Thanksgiving. My family and I try to hit featured places from Triple D each time we are out of town. Well mistake, HUGE mistake. Place was dirty. Owner yelling at customers. Food was not good. I don't know who cooked when Triple D was there but OMG. Don't go.
What a crappy place. No way this is the famous 'best tacos' place any more. Menus have been cheaply photocopied so much has that they are barely legible. Servers couldn't give a darn about the cleanliness much less the customer. Save your money and pick somewhere else.
I'm a native of SA and have been to more taco joints than any other kind of restaurant. I love tacos of all kinds but this place SUCKED. Smelled of rancid grease, waitress was passive aggressive and food wasn't even average. Pick any one of literally hundreds of better taco joints in our town.
