Very marvelous place to visit. The attention to detail was breathtaking. I would recommend at least vising once here to experience the nature of beauty this church has.
San Fernando Catedral is an amazing place to visit. Just forget about what religion or idiology you are inclined to it. It is a very holy place. If you don't know something and ask, you will receive an answer; not only from the priest, but from people that are preying. Hospitality is the definition of people's attitude.
From the outside it looks tremendously big in size, and extremely beautiful detail in all the exterior architecture. It is very calming and peaceful as you fill with a sense of holyness stepping into the church. I go here when ever I need to ease my mind and get in touch with Jesus. It's a great place to to go for religious reasons, to take your family out and see all of it's historical statues, values and impacts it has had in the city of San Antonio.
One of the oldest churches in the United States, San Fernando Cathedral has played a major role in the history of San Antonio including the Battle of the Alamo. The remains of the heroes from that battle are now stored on the left side of the main entrance of the church.
One of my good friends and I attended this just a few weeks ago it being my first time, my kids and hers. The ushers were so kind sitting us. I loved it and that was the first thing I noticed. The ppl were kind. One woman saying in Spanish my boys were handsome. I'm definitely going back. I want my boys and I to get something out of this and I feel we will.
