I love taking the kids to this park. And have been to many birthday parties at their beautiful Pavilion next to the children's playground. Love feeding the Ducks every time I go also. Absolutely my favorite Park.

Like most things in San Antonio it tries really hard too impress you initially and then falls flat on it's face. The train is cool. The train ride not so much. Maybe I am just cynical and jaded but I expected to see the park. Instead it's a trip past utility buildings, through dense woods littered with the remains of hobo camps the night before and a detailed look at wealthy jerks slapping tiny white balls around over by the driving range. It's the most mediocre of train rides that anyone ever dared considered calling fun.

This is a great place to walk, there's ample shade and different walking paths. BBQ areas all through the park. There's a nice playground in the back and you can see lots of birds from the zoo along the river. We always see turtles as well. Very nice family friendly place to go, right outside the Riverwalk and city center area. A relaxing area.

Great places for everyone in the family to enjoy! Kids can play in the park while the parents can really just sit back and enjoy all the nature around them. You can even take a stroll through the secluded walking trails or even go fishing. Just in case you get bored there is also a zoo and museum right next door within walking distance. My family loves this place it really is one of San Antonio's city Jems.

Today it was lightly raining and the park was almost deserted. It was so lovely to walk along the trails, which were not muddy, despite the rain. The entire park is such a treasure in the heart of the city. When I worked at the Witte museum nearby, I would love taking walks at lunchtime through the peaceful woods. This is an excellent place for family, couples, or anyone just wanting to see a bit of local nature.
