Decided to go to see The King and I so excited to have the lovely date night with my husband. The theater is beautiful there is no doubt about that, however, then you get to your seats. Mind you we had great seats in the mezzanine level, a couple hundred dollars each and yet the entire first part of The King and I, I had the gentleman behind my seat with his knees in my back and moving them constantly, my knees almost in the back of the person in front of me so i had to keep adjusting as to not hit her, the person beside me sharing my seat and on my arm because she was bigger, and my poor husband's knees in the back of the woman in front of him, and the spot light in my peripheral view the entire show. Not only were these seats so small but so very uncomfortable. It doesn't matter how beautiful the theater is if you can't at least make your seating comfortable and a joyful experience for people, what does it matter. We typically see shows at another venue, where the seating is so much better, and I do believe that we will continue to go to that venue. We left the King and I after intermission because there was no way we were going to sit through the second half with seats like that. What is more amazing is that the theater doesn't really care about the guest experience says obvious if you look at these Yelp reviews they do not bother to even reply, when we were there and we spoke to an usher about how uncomfortable to see was and we wish there was a way to upgrade she basically showed us to the door. Why would you want to give your money to a place that doesn't even care about the guest experience, and the theater that sees it shows as a cattle call; the more people you can fit in the more money you can make! Once they've paid-not our problem. So I guess if you are looking to spend $400 for 2 people and uncomfortable seats and not really enjoy the show this is definitely a fantastic theater to go to.
This place has that old time feel and they have great shows that come through town. There are a lot of really good restaurants within walking distance. If you are looking for a good date night I would highly recommend a walk along the river and a show.
Harry Potter was amazing. Will definitely come back for the next ones. Also plan to come for The Pirates of the Caribbean
This is the Empire Theater. Very small theater but, almost all seats give you a fantastic view. My favorite seats are in the Mezzanine where these pictures were taken. Would definitely go back again.
Wonderful historic theatre located one block away from the Riverwalk. Valet is offered for Starlight Suite Ticket holders ONLY. VIP doesn't count. The architecture of the building is amazing, the art and details are beautiful. Fun fact: this site is part of a haunted tour. Apparently a woman lost her footing and fell from her apartment located above the majestic theatre, landing on the marquee.
