An absolutely fantastic way to explore the city as well as the mission trail. The bikes are easy to check out and you won't be charged if you check it back in within 45 minutes. Rent one at the begining of the mission trail, then check it in at each successive mission on your way for a great way to tour the whole path pretty quickly. The part of the trail by the basin is also very nice and easy on a bike. The bikes are easy for even beginners to use. A healthy way to get around.
This is a great way to explore the city!
My wife and I enjoyed it on our vacation. We spent a day visiting all the vacations. We thought B-Cycle was great for people who like being outside/working out on their vacation.
I highly recommend you keep track of your time though and check in frequently. The caveat with B-Cycle is that you have unlimited 30 minute rides for a whole day. That means you have to check in your bike or else you get charged an additional $2 for every time you go over until a certain amount. Otherwise, if you can keep track of your time, $10 per bike for the entire day is not a bad deal at all. There are plenty of stations to check in, and if you download the mobile application, it shows you a map with every station so that you can navigate your way around
Used B-cycle the entire time I was in town for a conference. The app was awesome. Just walk up, select the dock number of the bike you want, and ride off. It was great for transport and site seeing. The city has some nice bike friendly roads and trails. I put about 35 miles on the bikes in 4 days.
Otherwise, I HIGHLY recommend you try this out if you care just wanting to check out the sites without have to drive a car and find parking every single time!
Could someone tell me how exactly all of this works pls ?? Tia
Word to the wise if you decide to ride along the bike path south of the River Walk to see the historic San Antonio Missions. Riding against the wind can be a pain if you are not physically fit to do so! Just something to keep in mind if your decide to go for those longer rides.
