If that strip mall can provide enough security to be on top of things like that, so can Rolling Oaks. Moral of the story? If you go to Rolling Oaks, don't leave anything of value in your car.
Very comfortable place to shop! Great deals and plenty of activities for the kids! They even have an Electronic Animal Ride kiosk for people of all ages alot of fun. Alot of choices in the food court too!
To offer contrast, the other day I was at a strip mall across town. Middle of the day, busy lot, pretty much the same scenario. Someone had locked their keys in their car and was essentially trying to break in, so of course it looked suspicious. There was a security guard right there keeping an eye out, and they'd already verified what was going on.
I really like this mall! I can't understand why it is not more popular. (Perhaps that's why I like it!) They have great stores and an H & M opening soon! This mall has a laid back atmosphere and is not usually crowded so people don't run all over you. The merchants and shoppers are usually pretty friendly. There is always parking available. The big stores are JC Penney, Sears, Macy's, and Dillard's. There is also a Bath and Body, Victoria's Secret, Finish Line, Foot Locker, nail salon, massage station, etc. There is also a food court and lots of activities for kids! Occasionally, there are style shows, performance, pageants, health and wellness expos, etc. If I had to make suggestions, it would be for them to get their escalators replaced or fixed so that they aren't always not working. It feels weird walking up an escalator! I also wish they had stairs somewhere near the center of the mall to make it more convenient to get up and down the two levels. As it stands, you have to go to either end of the mall for the escalators (which may be broken) or wait for a very slow and sometimes crowded elevator in the center of the mall.
I actually used to work there at one of the many nice decorated Kiosks. It's fun to Walk°In early in the morning and get a little personal time and exercise for a little while. With Nice Warm Smells of Freshly brewed Coffee In the early morning, your day will be even better. Mall stores are Nice and Convenient to access with wonderful Store Members that happily Help as best as they can. Mall Hours are Very Convenient and Good For the Whole Family, Teens, Young/Old adults.
This mall needs to step up its security. Everybody's heard about the robbery/shooting, so I don't need to get into that, but aside from upping security inside, they need to do more patrols of the parking lot. One of my relatives had their car broken into in the middle of the day while parked in the busiest lot. The thief went through the entire car, spent plenty of time digging around, so it wasn't some 5 second deal where security couldn't possibly have been expected to notice. No valuables had been left out in plain sight, and the car's not flashy or expensive, so there was no reason it should've seemed especially appealing to a thief. A police report was made, and the cop said several other cars had been broken into that same day, and it wasn't the only day when multiple cars had been burglarized at Rolling Oaks.
Wide range of shops for clothes, nicknacs, toys, jewelry, etc., decent choice of food (I had the Chinese food, which I would rate as better than Panda Express for a better price), and a great place to just walk about with a friend or two and talk.
