I urge anyone reading this to think carefully about ordering from here. I'm going back to Lucy's cakes on the west side even if I have to drive further.
I will never buy a cake here again I ordered a chocolate cake with whipped topping and Bavarian filling I got a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and whipped filling. I didn't want to say anything because I was in a hurry to get to my daughter's fifth birthday party I went back after word I talked to the lady about it she said, "what would you like to do" I want you to credit it I said . Would you like me to credit it for something else? Um I don't think so I probably will never ever buy another meemo's cake again. Her only excuse was ma'am I'm sorry but I made the cake exactly the way it is on the order the order said chocolate chocolate Custard the cake was chocolate chocolate whipped how was that exactly the same as what was on the order? The girl obviously does not know what the abbreviation from chocolate and custard is. At that point a customer walked in and I didn't want to embarrass myself and the lady so I just left with a $60 cake for a bunch of four-year-olds that would not even eat it.
The cake and cupcakes were beautiful and delicious!!!!! Beautiful wedding cake! They offered a big variety of cakes and flavors that were to die for!!! Meemo's had a professional and experienced staff and were very low maintenance! We love them and will be getting cakes and cupcakes from them for more than just events! Amazing taste and presentation! Top notch bakery!!!
For my son's birthday party, I ordered a vanilla cake with strawberry filling. I emailed the images I wanted on the cake so that they can create edible images on the cake. When I arrived to pick up the cake, I waited for them to finish the cake (I understood I was about 15 minutes early from the time I told them I would be there, so that wasn't an issue for me.) I didn't realize at the time that the reason I was waiting was because they were putting the edible images on the cake. I thought it was strange since I ordered 3 days prior. When I finally looked at the cake, there was an air bubble under the edible image on the top of the cake. I figured it would go down or I can lightly press it down when I get home. I did my best to let that go. When I took it out of the box at home, the bubble got worse and there were more around the edge of the cake. At this point I'm mad, but there's not much I can do with the birthday party only hours away.
We loved our wedding cakes from meemos!! They were a hit with our guests!! The cakes fulfilled our guest count too!!
We booked Meemo's Bakery for our wedding and reception after having their cake at a friends wedding. The staff here was awesome to work with, and when we had our first cake tasting we were sold on this bakery for our wedding. The cake was very moist, and not overly sweet. The price for the cake was very reasonable, and they worked with us to create some cakes we found on Pinterest for our Rehearsal, Bridal, and Grooms cake. The staff was always very responsive to our questions, and checked in with us regularly to make sure everything was still correct. They delivered the cake for us which was nice, and everyone at our wedding complimented us on the cake selection. I'd highly recommend them for weddings and other events. Thank you Meemo's for creating our cakes!
Finally, the moment comes to cut the cake. Oh boy. It was the color blood red! I was so confused! It was supposed to be vanilla (white cake) with strawberry filling! Everyone at the party said "oh! It's red velvet!" No. It was not. I have no idea what flavor it was, but it was not red velvet. Didn't taste like strawberry. It tasted like chocolate of some sort. Plus, it was pretty dry and extremely sweet (too sweet to finish a piece) Now I'm pissed off! I am a patient woman with a gentle heart. But when I have to put a cake on credit because it costs $65 for an 8 inch! It should taste, look, and be great and as I wanted or thought it would be. This experience felt like my order was just thrown together last minute. I truly felt that I was not important to them. My husband and I agreed that we will never buy from Meemos Bakery.
