There is no entry few one day per week. Staff is very friendly and gift shop is well-stocked. Interesting exhibits that say volumes about local culture and history through many types of media.
We were walking the river walk and it was humid. We saw the museum and intended to go in to the gift shop to look around and get some A/C. Somehow we got free admission and it was a great time. Lots of interesting displays to be seen.
What a find, right on Riverwalk. Was free on Tuesday's, the night we were there! Plan on spending some time, it will be worthwhile.
Tuesday evenings are free! My favorite exhibits were the sculptures and the equipment like swords, firearms, Spurs, etc..They have some good photography too. Not sure how much I would have paid for it though.
Amazing Museum with friendly, helpful staff. My wife and I spent three hours just looking at all the exhibits. In addition to Pancho Villa's saddle and Santa Anna's sword, they have a great diorama of the Alamo as well.
We didn’t end up getting to go into the gift shop because they were doing inventory that day. It would have been nice if they were able to inventory on their normally scheduled closed day (Tuesday, maybe?).
