This place is very popular for breakfast/brunch. It has an old-fashioned diner vibe; it's not a fancy place. The food is good and plentiful, too. One of their specialities is a gigantic cinnamon roll with icing. When I say giant, I'm talking about maybe 9 inches square and 4--5 inches high. It's definitely meant to be shared. It's pretty casual but there is table service and the servers are skilled.
My family and I arrived to this place with high expectations as we have heard this place was amazing. The place was half empty but the empty tables were all dirty to begin with. No one ask us to sit on a table so we just sat in a table that was less dirty. Took a bit for a waitress to acknowledge we were there so I decided to go into the restroom to wash my hand. I noticed the restroom sink was clogged as sink was full with dirty water, no soap on dispenser and no paper to dry my hands with. Couldn't ignore the dirty restroom as toilet paper was on the floor and just a bad bad first impression. I walked out of the restroom hoping my wife had just hand sanitizer to clean my hands. My wife made me aware that the table next to us had left as they had issues with their food. We decided to walk out and look for another place as this was just a bad choice for us.
The world famous cinnamon bun was delicious, the burger wasn't anything too special, and the fries were just cold. Sweet tea was too sweet and it took a waitress 15 minutes to notice I hadn't been served. I really did like the atmosphere so I'm not quite ready to write this place off so I'll be visiting again soon for a second chance.
Frankly, I'd say no stars would be better. Got seated fast. However, our food took ages to finally arrive. Once the plates finally came, the food was cold. Not Luke warm, stick your finger all the way in the middle cold. Chicken fried steak was also undercooked and the gravy was like white water. Worst 1st time experience at a restaurant ever. I don't know what chicken fried steak man vs food orders, but it sure wasn't what was on my plate.
I finally got to try this place out. I had the deputy chicken fried steak with Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes and the gravy was so good. The chicken fried steak was a lackluster but still good. The portions are amazing for the price. We also had the 3lb cinnamon roll and it was AMAZING! I thought something that big would be dry and flavorless but I was wrong. It was extremely busy when we visited on Saturday afternoon but even with the rush our waitress was attentive and when too much time lapsed another team member would check on us. So no complaints here. I wish I would have tried this place sooner.
