Took my 99 f250 to the shop told them it had a noise in transmission in overdrive they said the noise is coming up the driveshaft from rear end so I said OK if you guarantee its the driveshaft not transmission then repair the rear end then says they will call with price but best 800$-1500$ worst case. so I get a call saying hey with repair for rear end it's going to be 3400 I said you are out of your mind so put it back together and I will take it somewhere else even if I lost the 350$ deposit on the work so I called a friend of mine at thrash auto and said total for every piece of rebuild on rear end 2200$ so about to pick up and the it there Mike end up telling him about the price and shop magically now the repairs are 100$ cheaper just to let them fix it (should have been my sign since they were already scamming me) so I let them do the work ( rear end does have some metal in it but let me remind you I said again will you guarantee its not the tranny because that's what my real problem is). Long story short 2200$ later still making same transmission noise and I guess my says oh so politely your sol. ( and fyi all the good ratings on here are from friends of the shop owner )
