I've lived in San Antonio for all of my adult life, and only recently have I begun to explore the libraries around town. The Mission Branch Library is one of my favorites thus far. The design mimics the exterior of the neighboring missions (which were recently designated a UN World Heritage site). The interior is clean and warm with plenty of seating areas intermingled between bookshelves. The library also serves as a space for community activities like ping-pong and D&D. A row of back-to-back computers is frequently utilized by locals for job-searching, research, and general web-browsing. Large windows allow for plenty of natural light into the building and, in some spots, there is an excellent view of the top of the mission above the trees along a neighboring creek. Very scenic. Excellent library.
Very friendly and helpful staff Always. Facility is very well maintained, very clean. Not one complaint about Mission Library. I highly recommend coming to this branch where the Mission drive-in used to be.
