We got her back from the car hospital yesterday, and she is all better! Apparently the "New" Beetle as they call them is as quirky as the original Beetle! The fuse holder under the hood had melted due to resistance in the battery cable from corrosion! Apparently this is not an uncommon issue! By the way if you are in SA and need a really GREAT, reputable, honest, knowledgeable, professional mechanic seriously consider the team at MD Automotive! I initially picked them when Blue took sick based on positive google reviews (4.7 out of 5 stars with 77 reviews) and location. Once I started dealing with them I was nothing but impressed and most importantly never felt like I was going to be ripped off or have ongoing issues! They are AAA approved and warrant their work for 3 years or 36k miles and even provide 1 year of Emergency Roadside Assistance as s Courtesy! I'm sure they are not the cheapest shop in town but I felt the price was fair and as you can tell they made a raving fan out of me!
Awesome awesome awesome customer service! 5 stars all the way. I went in for all 4 brakes and rotors to be replaced. They did a free inspection and notified me I only needed the rear side replaced. Any other company would've taken my truck and charged me for all 4 brakes. These guys saved me a lot of money but not selling me unnecessary services and they did a fantastic job on my F150 as well! I really appreciate their honesty and integrity. I will be bringing my other 2 vehicles here for service as now too. Thank you J.R. and all the guys at MD Automotive. You all have a customer for life now!
First and last visit to MD automotive. I was quoted about $2500.00 for two front brakes, rotors, calipers, oil change, and tires. The customer service was awesome but the diagnose on my vehicle was very poor. I came in because the brakes were needing replacement but was told I needed to replace the calipers as well. I was able to get 2 more opinion and both times was told the calipers were fine and not needed to be replace. I felt like this place was just trying to add more than needed.
However before I went to pick up my vehicle after the oil change was completed. I paid for the service and got in my vehicle and the oil setting on the dashboard did not reset. I went back in to inform them of the problem and was told they would get someone to change it. I waited for 15 mins and nobody showed. Very dissapointing. I decided to just leave because I was done waiting (I was the only customer present at the time).
All in all my experience did not meet my expectation and did not like getting ripped off. I just moved here from San Diego and my dad is a master mechanic. Luckily for me my dad came just in time for Thanksgiving to tell me about my car. I wanted to come back for 2nd visit to do a transmission fluid flush but I will be taking my business elsewhere.
New to San Antonio and Texas and they were phenomenal in getting me in and out quickly with the inspection and helped me to get new tires in the same day. Friendly, fast and didn't try to sell me anything. I'll definitely me coming here for all of my automotive needs.
