Dr. Held has saved my eyesight more than once. I don't usually write online reviews, but I felt compelled to after a recent visit to see Dr. Kristin Story Held. I was born premature and have needed an ophthalmologist all my life. I started seeing Dr. Held when I was 17 and have gone to her since, even after moving out of state, because of the level of care I receive. During a routine eye exam 7 years ago, she found that my retina was detaching from my eye. She recommended a surgeon for laser eye surgery and it was taken care of the next day. Both the surgeon, and a close friend of mine who is an optometrist, told me they were impressed that Dr. Held found this problem without my experiencing symptoms first. After a few years of living in California I started seeing a local eye doctor, but this year scheduled an appointment with Dr. Held on a trip back to TX. Boy was I glad I did! She caught lattice degeneration in my other eye. When her nurse called the retinal specialist's office to arrange treatment the same day (I guess it was that bad) and got no answer, Dr. Held picked up the phone herself, dialed the retinal physician directly, and got her to accept me for same day treatment. I was so impressed not only that she caught serious eye problems *twice* for me, but that she personally ensured I got the proper treatment ASAP. I cannot express how grateful I am for her care and for saving my eyesight. I am never trusting my eyesight to another doctor, no matter how far away I live! Thank you, Dr. Held!!
I would highly recommend Dr. Held. The staff is great, the appointments are on time and Dr. Held is excellent at diagnosis and treatment and just for general eye exams.
