If you have gynecological issues or high risk pregnancy issues, I would HIGHLY recommend to avoid this clinic. I had a severe gynecological issue which resulted in a surgery and a number of post-surgical infections. My issue also scared me to death, and instead of explaining to me what was going on with my body, I was told I would be seeing a counselor. I thought it was someone who was knowledgeable about my issue and just talk. Instead, I was clinically admitted to Methodist Hospital and Laurel Ridge! I've never had any issue before. I found another practice that treats me like a person. I was a professor and currently work in an industry that requires clearances. That 'referral' by IFWH almost cost me my job.
First of all, I would like to say my doctor was AMAZING and I highly recommend Dr. Daniel Calderon to anyone for any service needed in the OB/GYN field; however, this office is probably the worst for prenatal care. Not only were they extremely reluctant to even bill my insurance before trying to bill me up front, but the nurses are extremely rude and treat you like a complete inconvenience. As a pregnant woman, I do expect a stress-free zone when going to the doctor; instead, I only received bill after bill and fought them constantly to communicate with my insurance. When my husband became eligible for a secondary insurance, we were told we would have to file our own claims and they would not even touch the paperwork. Finally, at my 5 month sonogram, I informed them I would not be seeing them for the remainder of my pregnancy, and asked that the previous payments towards my birth plan be applied to the sonogram taking place that day. Instead of being understanding and ask why they were losing my business, I was given a total to pay that day or they would not even conduct the sonogram.
Doctors are really good! But always running late!! If your appointment is 9 am prepare yourself to be attended 2 hours after that!!
In 2013 I payed my bill with cash and set up at payment plan with to pay off the remaining balance. Thru a payment plan....instead the billed me for the whole amt.Thank goodness I have the original receipt with the cash payment made..I immediately reported it ..when I disputed it ..a lady named Becky said she fixed the problem and the whole bill is taken care of..next thing you know its on my credit as an outstanding balance for the full amt..I have the original receipt from the appointment stating I made a cash payment too!!..this was a total scam..is anyone else having this issue?? It was back in 2013 ??
If you have a ton of money and don't care how it is spent, please see this office because they have no problem taking every dime they can get from you. If not, expect to be treated like a second class citizen who isn't even worth their time.
The people in the front desk are terrible!! Just 1 good and nice lady!! The youngest is the worst! Really rude she treats you like she is paying for your appointment!
I just had my first physical ever at 21 and was very nervous. I was recommended by a friend, but the other reviews on Google had me nervous. The bottom line was the IFWH is amazing. Everyone was friendly and helpful and my doctor and nurse made the whole thing way better and easier then I could have ever expected. I highly recommend the Institute for Women's Health.
