I love this clinic the staff and providers are the best!
I've had some frustrations with communication at this clinic.Twice staff have not been able to tell me what I needed to know which has caused unnecessary stress and problems. Assume staff are not too knowledgeable or know the workings of the clinic. One situation caused a further appointment to be cancelled the day before and I'd taken the day off work for it.
My wife is a patient here and we've always had a really great experience!
The waiting room has two TVs dominating the small room and it's awkward to get to the check in desk. I was able to get appointments without waiting too long, but once I had them, besides my lab work visit, I waiting for very long times -- including in the private room .
The staff/doctors/nurses seem average, not any real problems with any but no standouts either. It's obviously a clinic that sees a lot of people and offers grant programs to those in need--which included me.
My last big issue is I was told verbally my blood work numbers which I watch since I have a couple on borderline because of family history but I never got a print out the information for my personal health records. When I tried to get a copy I was told I'd have to go all the way up to the University to sign a release. I'm really bothered by this, I was seen at the clinic there's no reason I shouldn't be able to stay in my neighborhood to get my info. When I call, no staff can help and just say they are unauthorized. I asked to speak with my doctor/immediate staff and they can't do that either. Finally after persistence they took my name and number to pass on. But because of previous experience, I'm not too hopeful. My previous doctor (nurse practitioner) in another state let me communicate with her via email over issues like this. It was easy and accessible. I don't know why I'm not authorized to get a print out of my health numbers and instead have to spend a three hour round trip by bus (I'm carless) to get my info. So lesson learned, get the info during the appointment to avoid an endless headache of access to my health information.
Wait time was long but the doctor and people there were VERY nice and attentive, worth the wait.
