Very disappointed in the services at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital. My mom was there and they were making up reasons to keep her there even though there was no medical reason to. I called the nurse and she was rude and unprofessional and said would have others call me, they never did...will never visit this hospital again...it was like pulling teeth to get my mom released.
I had a kidney transplant 2 weeks ago. This place is kept very clean. All the nurses were awesome. I think the nurse director, Brenda Lace well is the reason for the nurses to be awesome. I have seen if the upper management is good then the subordinates have to be good. I thank Brenda Lacewell for providing an excellent service.
Excellent care from top to bottom. We've never experienced anything like it. Excellent food, wonderful nursing staff. Discharged on time. Supportive employees at every turn. Amazing!!!
My daughter was given a pain med that didn't work. We notified the assigned RN. A good while later, she was crying in pain, so I notified the RN again. The RN told me that my daughter's been admitted, so she is no longer a patient of the ER. I had to tell her to stop walking away while I'm talking to her about this and help my daughter. She walked away three different times before I got tired of it. Appropriate pain meds were finally administered, but I am convinced that the ER had "passed the buck" and would do nothing more for my daughter's pain unless I spoke up. I'm not impressed with the RN's customer service skills. Hopefully, things will be better upstairs.
Urologist directed us to check into this ER for admittance because of daughter's kidney stones. Triage and admitting was done well.
The ER patient restroom has no door lock...and a prison toilet. People are expected to sit on that thing.
We have been coming to this hospital for years and it seems that each year the service gets a little worse. There are some really good nurses and there are some that are really bad. Some nurses spend more time on their phones than taking care of the patients. It's even hard to find a nurse that knows how to properly insert an IV. During our last visit, the nurse missed our family members vein multiple times before calling someone in to help her. What happened to changing the linens on the bed and encouraging patients to take showers? Nurses wearing latex gloves? Quality care is dissappering slowly. This hospital also needs to be renovated, it is showing it's age. The cafeteria food is terrible and expensive. It used to taste good and not cost much. I understand that hospitals need to save money to increase profits but quality patient care shouldn't be abandoned.
It's the next morning and we're waiting for my daughter to be moved to preop. The staff on the 5th floor did a great job. She was tended to and treated very well. Pain control was impressive.
Daughter was moved to her room. Transport employee did a great job. Very professional and courteous.
Their boards said 30 minute wait time... we are at 1 hour and 30 minutes... the waiting room is barely big enough for 10 people... there are people standing up. This is ridiculous!
