I didn't expect cardiac nurses to know there were some hip surgeries that had hip precautions and some that didn't. I did expect them to give a little credence to what the patient was saying.
My family member was given excellent care during his entire visit, by everyone he came into contact with. As a fellow nurse myself, the nursing staff there made me very proud! His physicians were also attentive and competent. The hospital was clean and easy to navigate. All private rooms. Thank you for making our experience a good one! Great job!
My advice is do not send your loved ones to a medical staff who seems to have trained under
If I could rate this hospital below one star, I would. My mom was brought to the emergency room for extremely high blood pressure, elevated blood sugar, dizziness, vomiting, fainting and headaches. She remained in the ER for three days until a room became available in ICU. (If they think she needs to be in ICU, don't you think getting her a room would possibly be a priority?). After nine days in the hospital, several tests, and STILL the same symptoms they released her! She can't even stand without vomiting, dizziness and almost passing out. She is so incredibly weak, yet they are releasing her. My brother desperately tried to have them keep her in the hospital until she was truly ready to be discharged. He was told "the doctor already signed the release papers and they cannot go back and changed it". Seriously ?!?! They would rather endanger my mom's safety and well-being than have to deal with paperwork. They might as well change the name of the facility to Methodist Mortuary because going there is comparable to playing chicken with a freight train.
The rest of my stay was fine and even enjoyable. Were it not for the hour of what can only be described as torture, I would be writing a very positive review.
During our stay, we were definitely surprised that the CEO Marc Strode came into our room to personally ask how everything has been. His compassion doesn't stop at him, the entire staff is professional and above all COMPASSIONATE.
After a hip replacement surgery, I was not sent to the orthopedic floor, the 3rd floor, as promised. I was sent to the 5th floor, the cardiac floor. As I came out of the anesthetic, I was groggy and in EXTREME pain to my KNEES, which I explained to the nurses would be relieved by my turning on my side. They prevented it, telling me that the hip precautions that went with my surgery didn't allow that. I kept telling them, though my tears, that there were no hip precautions with the kind of hip surgery I had had. The refused to believe me. Fortunately, my friend advocate got through to them to call the doctor, who confirmed my lack of hip precautions.
Dr. Pepper.
This hospital is the nearest to our home, we have been here many times. And I'm starting to think of I should continue going here. It seems the medical staff does not know how to treat a patient anymore. I went to the ER last night and saw a doctor right away, although she seemed like she did not want to do her job correctly because her diagnose was completely incorrect and she sent us home with no response on why we went there on the first place. The next morning me and husband went to a PCP. And she diagnosed the issue right away. It was 2 major ear infections. And the doctor at this hospital took a look at his ears and did a CT scan. But said nothing was wrong!!!
