I recommend this clinic to anyone in the San Antonio area, we moved across town and will continue to come here!
I currently have about six dogs between all of my family members and we used to go to another vet for 10 years until I found this location they are amazing accommodating open on Saturdays the staff is great they they're able to get you in when you call at any you don't have to wait you can drop off. Again the staff is amazing I have never had an issue calling and making an appointment and then not being able to schedule me on that same day there are multiple people there to help you and answer your questions and the veterinarians truly care.
Went there because someone told me they can have dog heartworm treatment in reasonable price but it's not real good price .. Just average price...
I have never had a negative experience at this veterinary clinic. My family and I have seen Dr. Harrison for years. If he is not available for appointments, I trust Dr. Wilcox and Dr. Nanez just the same, with my pets! I have a corgi with newly found arthritis, a pitbull mix with seizures that are now controlled and monitored thanks to their diligence, and three other pets that have been under their care since day 1. They always give you an appropriate quote if you need something extensive done, and are always willing to work with you on necessary treatments.
Rebecca and Erica have been around since I can remember and they are always helpful scheduling appointments, relaying messages when I need prescriptions filled and much much more (all of the front desk employees are awesome but these two are my favorite, did I say that?). I've had the most interaction with Ivan as a tech and he is great assisting during appointments, especially if I am bringing multiple pets in at once.
I won't let them touch my dog again ever!
This is a review about their boarding service. I sent my 5-year-old Australian shepherd there for boarding when I was away during Memorial weekend. This is the third time we used their boarding service. The first time was great. Second time, he came home with a diarrhea which lasted only a day so I didn't think it's a big deal, probably stress. This time, he came back with wounds all over his chin and two patches on his feet. A friend of mine picked him up for me cause my flight arrived later in the evening. When he picked him up, he just got a bill with medication charges with ZERO EXPLANATION (I paid the boarding fee up front). He asked what happened and the stuff could not figure it out and at the end they just said he was like this when he was sent in, which is not true. AND no one called me any time during his stay. So I called them first thing in the morning and talked to the vet. She said he must have developed some kind of allergy and started scratching. They noticed when they bathe him on Tuesday (the day I was supposed to pick him up) and that's why they did not call. I will post pictures of the wounds which I apologize may be disturbing. It's obvious that he has been scratching for a while to develop wounds this bad and they had to give him shot and antibiotics. HOWEVER no one noticed his scratching and no one bothered to put a cone on him which could totally prevent him from further hurting himself!! The vet told me this is because they have over 150 boarders in their facility during the long weekend and my dog has a long fur so it's not obvious to notice. I do not want say anything bad although I really want to. This is what I experienced and I just want to let people know. So here is what I learned personally , 1. do not expect them taking good care of your fur baby if they have "too many" boarders. They are just responsible to keep them alive. 2. Do not expect to get calls for what happened and just pay for whatever they did at the end without any explanation. 3. Do not expect them to notice your pet may have lesions on him if he has a long fur.
By far one of the best experiences of boarding my terrier mix and pitbull. My terrier has a lot anxiety which is why I am very particular on who I let take of my dog while I'm out of town. The boarding services here is far superior from other clinics in my opinion. Ive had issues before with other clinics and I've just never felt satisfied. The staff at DeZavala-Shavano Veterinarian clinic have indeed exceeded expectations with their kind communication and updating me that my dogs are doing fine when I contacted them. I definitely will be using their services again and would recommend others to do the same if they want their babies to be taken care of greatly when you're out of town.
the worst is treatment was not good. Staff will sweet talk to you but careless in dog treatment..
