TL;DR version: Their cheaply made furniture will break and they don't give two shits about customer service once they have your money.
Wonderful store, beautiful pieces and very kind and friendly customer service
I spent over $1000 for this sofa (and an additional $200+ for the matching ottoman), it should last more than three years!!! Also, the company that is recommend by Haverty's for an extended warranty should honor that agreement.
Will never spend one cent at Havertys again. Salesman was great but manager gave us the run around. Paid 4 grand for sofa the paint came off on my pants. This is normal according to the manager. He had a technician come to our house and spray paint the sofa. What a joke. Havertys is a place to go buy toys for tots.......
Absolutely do not give these scam artists your money. After reading all the glowing reviews about this place and comments like "expensive but you get what you pay for" we decided to furnish our new home with a sleeper sofa and a recliner from here. The pieces were both expensive but they looked very nice and as I say, we were expecting quality for the money. They also up-sold us on the protection plan in case anything should go wrong with the furniture we wouldn't have to worry (though we later found out that the salesperson misled us and that the protection plan only covered the fabric or some such nonsense). Less than 6 months after we bought them, the sofa broke. At first we were not worried, we paid extra for the protection plan after all and surely it was still within warranty. The first problem was that it took them well over 4 months to do anything about it. Then, after it was finally fixed and we began to feel relieved, it was only another two months until it broke in the exact same way as the first time. This time they were quicker about sending someone out to inspect it (though of course, like every other time they came out to the house, he did not arrive within the window of time that he was originally scheduled to). It was the same person who had come to repair it the first time, a detail which matters because one would think he would have recognized the same issue, but instead told us that the company would contact us about next steps for getting it fixed and left. A few days later we were notified that the inspector reported that there was nothing wrong with the couch and nothing further would be done about it. We should have known that we'd receive terrible customer service when on the original delivery they didn't tell us the delivery time until the day before it would be delivered and when we told them that the time they intended to come wouldn't work for us and that the 16 hours notice they were giving us wasn't sufficient to get time off of work, and were basically told "that's when we can deliver, take it or leave it".
So either I wad sold an inferior product or the Guardsman warranty is a scam? I am so disappointed in Haverty's right now. Take your money somewhere else and buy something that will last. So disappointed!
I purchased a Jordan sofa and ottoman in Aug 2014. Earlier this year, I noticed the springs in the seat cushions were diging into my backside when I sat down. I remembered that I had spent over $200+ dollars on the Guardsman protection plan. This is the Haverty's extended warranty plan.
So I filed a claim, (which was a drawn out process) I took pictures, (waited), got a response, (waited some more), and had the repairman come out. Was told that he couldn't fix this and that he had never seen springs built into a seat cushion. So he took additional pictures and left. I waited (again) for a response from Guardsmen as the technician recomended. After no response, I had to call them to only be informed that I would receive an email with the decision. I got the email. They won't cover it as it is "normal" wear and tear. This couch is only 3 years old, I don't have children, I don't entertain a lot. There is no way this is "normal" wear and tear!
Ordered and paid for a rug that I should have had by now. Still hasn't shipped I've been told it will be another 2 weeks. Cancelling order they've had my money long enough. Very disappointed in Haverty's! Will not shop here again
