I was asked if I was suicidal and I said no but my paperwork says I was suicidal and had a plan which blew my mind. LIES. LIES lies to suck money from your insurance.
Yes I agree the intake process could use some help... HOWEVER, I have ALWAYS been treated with kindness and respect. The staff is super cool as long as YOU are cool with them! We all have our REALLY HARD/BAD days. They try and learn how you work. What the best way to talk to you is and how to support you whe you are freaking out! They really try to get to know you as an individual! I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for the amazing techs and nurses! I wish I could remember names! I will always come here for help! Nix is scary and staff is rude and I've heard only bad things about Laurel Ridge from other patients while I was at S.A. BHH!
The only benefit I got out of my experience was my therapist getting me out of there and the only other help I got was from other patients.
While in an inpatient program, I was threatened by a guy, couldn't get any needed hygiene products and there was little help given. I've been in Nix and Laurel Ridge, this place cannot compare in quality of care. A one size fits all approach does not work on everyone. My issues are just due to lack of sleep and anxiety.
Unfortunately both inpatient and outpatient were like this. They need to have groups that will help address the needs of the patient more thoroughly. This place is like a jail but with less extracurricular activities. Not recommended.
Went in trying to get into the php program for Monday through Friday and ended up being told I could not leave. Assessment process is terrible. Staff questioned me for less than 5 minutes left and came back stating I have to stay voluntarily or under emergency detention.
They released my daughter by holding her 30 days, asking if she wanted to harm herself or others, gave her a shot and released her..no medication, no mental stabilization, took Medicaid money and turned her out on the street to get a taxi with no money. Called an old druggie friend to pick her up and bring her to my house. This maltreatment. The place collects insurance money and when that runs out just opens the door. They are supposed to find out and verify where they are going and how they will get there. I tried to get the name and address, phone of the CEO to tell him how poorly this hospital has been run but there is no information how to contact him. Collect the Medicaid money and turn them out. I hope someone closes this place down no a lawsuit is due to be filed one of these days really soon.
In the patients rights book it says no parent can be kept away from their child but one of their rules is no visitors under the age of 13. I'm surprised no lawsuit is open yet on this place.
Got in and staff could care less if you eat, get out of bed, shower, or stare at a wall for hours. Have a daily and weekly schedule posted but rarely is it followed. Got in on a Saturday afternoon and didn't eat until Sunday afternoon. Impossible to get help in this place. Staff treats you like you're scum and stupid and invisible. Getting any help at the nurses station is nearly impossible. Asked a nurse if they feed us here and she said NO in sarcasm and hatred. Witnessed patients with hands in their pants during groups and nothing done about that even though it's clearly going on. Staff is rude and negligent. Not a place that provides compassion or help only pure lies and what feels like hatred. Its a very dirty, shady place with doctors uneducated about mental health. Like I said no compassion at all. Why go into a job that requires helping people yet you don't care to help. Blows my mind. Don't go here.
I have been a patient here multiple times(self admit, suicidal issues).
Wait is long witch you'd expect but waited for 6 hrs finally out of the boring ass waiting room but than... MORE WAITING 4 hrs luckily there was a generous old lady nurse who let us go ahead of some people so I was admitted and it is disorganized wasn't payed attention 2 only this lady Kim did I had to include myself in order to get in the conversation instead of her picking me to share my thoughts I only stayed for one day in that jail and it was boring waiting you have nothing to do in the screaming room I call it it was disappointing for my first time in a mental hospital everyone was going mad they wanted to leave it's a small hospital so security isn't tight there just three officers & I made a new friend she had problems of her own you know everyone was going crazy and this hospital is new so there still learning I suggest going to a older hospital one that's been around for years & I felt the people who were suicidal that the more time they spent in there the more suicidal they felt my roommate something was wrong with him he was sick &a you know nobody knew what to do they just checked his blood pressure didn't see his dr and they just have him all these pills
