The staff here are amazing! Especially Javier! But the facility is awful. No wifi, shared bathrooms, lukewarm water at best, NO ELEVATOR despite being a 3 story structure, no close parking to carry your stuff in, and everything is very old. If your thinking of staying more than a night or two, do yourself a favor and pay for non-DOD lodging.
Look, the place is pretty old. There is no denying! It's a place to stay. Yes there is no WIFI in the rooms, but that shouldn't be a deal breaker! This is my preferred place to stay... its quite, and not too many people stay here. If you want luxury, stay at the Hilton. It's Government quality. 4/5 because small TVs
I'm only giving this a 2 because the staff is extremely professional. Besides that the only good I have to say is the AC works pretty good. There hasn't been hot water since I got here, the ice machine worked for 2 days and has been broken since then. A hotel having no wifi is insane to me. They'll give you an Ethernet cord but little good that will do you because it's ridiculously slow. This place would get 5/5 as a dorm or barracks because that's what it feels like. As for a paid room? Leaves a lot to be desired for.
They now have wifi, so that is a definite plus. Though that may have just been because my room was over the lobby - which, if so, I would give it a 3 instead of a 4 Sometimes the rooms are hit or miss, but overall usually good, and the staff is pretty good and friendly.
I stayed here for a cozy 6 weeks! During my stay the AC always worked which is fantastic since in was in the summer. I only saw three bugs the entire time in my room with only one being a cockroach. My stay was mostly trouble free, toward the end my door handle broke twice and I had to wait overnight for them to fix it. This does not surprise me as it is a Air Force Inn. Overall though it is outdated and pretty remote from the rest of San Antonio. However I enjoyed my stay here at the Kelly Inn.
